Security Erase-Enabled Data Purging Device for SCSI Hard Drives
- Securely erases all data on up to 30 SCSI hard drives simultaneously.
- Erases complete disk array shelves in a single operation.
- Erases data from replaced bad sectors.
- 50 and 68 pin SCSI interfaces built in.
- Hard drives may be reused - promoting better eco-stewardship.
- Complies with NIST 800-88, HIPAA, SoX, GLBA and others.
- Verifies data has been erased and generates a stored or printed audit trail.
- Portable, stand alone device securely erases all drives in a single operation.
- Connects to a PC for additional CPR Toolbox (included) features.
- Link with USB hub to manage multiple Hammers
SCSI Hammer implements the SCSI Security Erasure Write technique to completely purge all data, including remapped bad sectors, from SCSI hard drives. Unlike degaussing, SCSI Hammer destroys data, not hardware, allowing for redeployment of drives without the costs associated with hardware replacement. Compact and easy-to-use, this one-step device connects to up to 30 hard drives simultaneously via standard cables and erases data at speeds up to 150 GB per minute. The device can be used as a standalone unit with the onboard LCD user interface or connected to a host PC via USB.
Optional battery-powered Bluetooth printer allows an audit printout to be generated onsite. A certificate can also be produced in html format, providing the owner of the data results of the erasure operation.
Use SCSI Hammer in a range of configurations
- Direct Connect: Purges up to four hard drives at once.
- Disk Array: Erases a complete shelf, up to 30 hard drives, without removing drives from the enclosure.
- PC Connect for enhanced CPR Tools functionality: Proprietary CPR Tools software suite (included) provides a full featured control panel, giving the technician complete control of the operation from Windows XP and Vista. Other tools include detail drive information, low level sector viewing, operation logging and audit trail reporting.
NIST MEDIA SANITATION RECOMMENDATIONS
The National Institute of Standards and Technology has established new guidelines for electronic media sanitation and ranks Secure Erase along with degaussing at the highest security level that does not involve actual physical destruction.
